Welcome
Purchased by Richard and Jean Tally on June 17, 2021, GRV will continue to produce the Bordeaux and Rhone reds and dry whites that have garnered medals over the decades. Thanks to the considerable skills of our European trained and certified winemaker Rainer Thoma, old recipes may be tweaked and a few new vines may be added to the mix.
So, buckle up. Great things are on the horizon for our iconic GRV brand. This is a whole new ball game as we build a new winery operation from scratch. All our inventory is brand new. There are no holdovers from the prior ownership.
Founded in 1987 when wine industry pioneer Stephen Smith planted his first vines, Grande River Vineyards fermented its first wine in 1990. Until 2006, it was the largest grape producer in the state. More recently, the winery has produced 5,000 cases of wine per year.
Over the decades, GRV has chalked up a rich history as Colorado’s premier estate-grown wine producer. From its location at the base of the state’s western Little Bookcliffs mountain range near the Colorado River, GRV is poised for new growth and innovation.

Legacy Wine Club
We are thrilled to bring back the wine club with a new line up wines. Benefits include discounts on purchases, shipping promotions, and more!

Discover Our Wines
While we establish our brand new Ten Acre Winery doing business under a time-honored GRV label, our Ten Acre Farm operation will continue to cultivate the tried and true varietals that have served us well: Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot for the reds, and Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Riesling, and Viognier for the whites.
Any of these varietals can stand alone, thank you very much, but wait until you taste the magic that happens when great grapes are expertly blended to create something really special. We will bring back our classics of Meritage White and Meritage Red, as well as introducing our Primitivo port and Amorella dessert wines. Of course, we will be aging some red and white reserves in oak barrels to enjoy down the road.

Wine Club
We will honor past Wine Club memberships and welcome new members.
